Video and photography workshops with detainees (+ exhibition in Almuldi Murcia) exploring constructedness of visuality, mobility and media (im)possible futures.

In collaboration with non-profit Asociaciòn Colectivo Parèntesis in Murcia, a local NGO that works with present and former detainees, providing information and support for the families and their legal status and continuously engaging with the prison population by organizing and delivering workshops and creative activities within the detention centre.

Three invited artists will spend between 2 and 3 weeks each working in the prison, hosted in one of the apartments of the detention complex. On a daily basis in closed collaboration with Parentesi’s staff, the artists will work with the prisoners in generating, organizing and delivering a series of photography and video making workshops.

Invited artists: Nada Pljar, Macedonia/UK; David Rych, Austria/Germany; Marcelo Exposito & Veronica Iglesia, Spain/Argentina. The outcome of the workshops is a shared project between the artists and all participants and will be exhibited as such for M8 in the Almudi space in Murcia and in the form of a publication.
