Los Molinos – Museum of Water Culture (Murcia)
Dedicated to the presentation of machinery and permanent exhibitions about water, which is a significant feature in the economic, political and cultural heritage of the Region of Murcia, Los Molinos hosts a complimentary collection of contemporary archival material. These artistic investigations and media productions address the construction, negotiation and diffusion of knowledge through the use of the archive. As such they fill the crucial gap of how we conceive and inhabit historical, contemporary and imminent realities. Running alongside these debates are projects that address the strategies and processes of collectivity and collaboration within contemporary critical practices.
This particular, historical space along the river in Murcia will host exhibitions and projects related to the city’s and the region’s current issues and how this is related with the idea of mass communication in the public sphere.
Los Molinos will present AGM 10: Collectivus CPS, The ARTS ASSEMBLY, a Media Lounge, as well as hosting a radio performance by Valerie Tevere & Angel Nevarez, a film programme curated by Aida Eltoire and a series of talks organised by Khaled Hafez. It will also feature one of Manifesta 8 educational spaces.
